Effie Paroutsa is best known for her luminous and evocative interior and travel photography. Effie brings a deep understanding of hospitality to her interior work—capturing spaces not just as they appear, but as they feel. Her images infuse interiors with warmth, making them feel lived-in and inviting. With a deep appreciation for diverse lifestyles, Effie has worked for more than 25 years in New York and Athens, building an international portfolio that includes Condé Nast Traveller (Hellas), Geo, Voyager, Passport, Athinorama Travel, Gente Viaggi (Italy), Geotropio, Blue, Gastronomos, K Magazine, and Kathimerini newspaper, among others. Her travel photography has been published extensively across Europe and the United States.
In March 2015, Effie was an invited speaker at TEDxHeraklion where she presented her perspective on “Simplicity: The Key to Happiness”. She has published three books focusing on Greek culture, local traditions and Greek recipes. Her work has been exhibited all over the world including five solo exhibitions in Athens, Washington, DC and NYC, among many others.
Effie holds a BA in photography from Tisch School of the Arts, New York University where she was awarded the Founders Day award and Tobias award. She began her career in New York City as an art director and commercial photographer.
